Zuckerberg has announced yet another adjustment to the algorithm that regulates the content we see. In summary, greater weight will be given to posts produced or which receive more interactions from family and friends. Today it is the amount of reactions and comments a post receives that determines its importance and therefore how high it will appear in the News Feed (all other things being equal). With this update we want to highlight contents considered significant by the people in our circle or those that generate discussions (for Facebook the comment seems to be a signal of greater attention than a like). It seems very similar to the change made in 2016 , but while with the previous one priority was given to content produced by friends and family, with the current one priority will also be given to those posts not directly produced by them.
But which receive interactions and Canada Phone Number comments from them. For example, we could see posts from pages that we don't follow appear in our News Feed, because a friend with whom we often interact has decided to leave a long comment (for the algorithm, a signal of greater interest than the short one) or to comment several times ( signal of a text that has sparked discussion). The big news is that Facebook clearly says that it will favor posts from friends and family over public ones, i.e. those from pages (obviously with the same level of interactions received).
Therefore, a negative impact on page reach , video viewing and site traffic is very likely. Advice for companies that want to avoid penalties from Facebook: – focus on quality content that stimulates conversations, being careful not to fall into the trap of engagement baiting ( see my post ). For example, live videos are a great starter for discussions – invite fans to do two actions that will guarantee the viewing of the contents: under the header of the page click on the “Follow” button and then on “Show first” (do this for the Vincos Blog page if you like) – use advertising to promote the most interesting content. A now inevitable practice that can give excellent results if done not occasionally, but with a very specific strategy, and by investing budgets commensurate with the objective you want to achieve.
